Description:

The Reflex Locomotion According to Vojta Level 1 (RL1) Course is based on the principles of Czech pediatric neurologist Dr. Vaclav Vojta. This course clarifies how, why, and where to administer the therapy of reflex locomotion. Through an understanding of postures and stimulation zones the practitioner will be able to rationalize the therapeutic intervention.

In this course you will learn:

  • The history of Reflex Locomotion According to Vojta

  • Primitive movement patterns across development from fetus to free walking.

  • Current research and published literature around the technique

  • An overview of the reflexive stimulation points.

Course outline:

  1. Introduction and Philosophy

  2. Creep stimulation Zones

  3. Creep movements and muscle functions

  4. Roll stimulations

  5. Roll muscle functions

  6. Examination of movement

  7. Application of therapy based on evaluation of movement

  8. Variations

  9. First position

  10. Reflex roll variations

  11. Lateral postures

  12. Problem solving and decision making

Reflex Locomotion Level 2 Course

Description:

The Reflex Locomotion According to Vojta Level 2 (RL2) course is based on the principles of Czech pediatric neurologist Dr. Vaclav Vojta. This course reviews RL1 topics and introduces the popular advanced variations. Variations to the RL-1 starting postures has application in both orthopedic and basic neurological conditions. You will learn the how, why, and where to administer the therapy of reflex locomotion variations. Through an understanding of these advanced postures and stimulation zones the practitioner will be able to confidently apply therapeutic intervention and advanced application of concepts built in RL-1 (neural plasticity, motor patterning and organizing).

In this course you will learn:

  • A review of RL1 material with advanced variations of roll and creep positions

  • A deeper review of muscle chains and their functional applications with common soft tissue approaches.

  • Orthopedic applications of Reflex Locomotion and treatment workflow concepts

  • An introduction to exercise approaches built around Vojta concepts (Brunkow/Ter Blum)

    RL2 course outline

A. Roll 1 variations- all positions include: stimulation points, predicted movements, and advanced muscle actions

B. Roll 3

C. Roll 4a

D. Roll 4b

E. Creep Variations- predicted movement patterns, head & spinal movement
