Vojta Therapy for Children

Vojta therapy is a non-invasive, holistic approach to the ideal development of movement that focuses on stimulating the nervous system to encourage the innate natural progression.  By applying pressure to specific points on the body, Vojta therapy helps children learn to move their bodies in more coordinated and efficient ways.

In addition to helping children reach important developmental milestones, Vojta therapy can also be used to treat a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy, spasticity, and developmental delays. Vojta therapy is gentle and non-invasive, therefore it is a safe and effective option for children of all ages and abilities.

The therapy, developed by Czech pediatric neurologist Dr. Vaclav Vojta, was developed in the 1950’s and expanded through many years of observations and applications.  Vojta therapy is a technique that can be used to help children who have difficulties with coordination, movement, and balance,  During a Vojta therapy session, the therapist will gently move the child into various positions and apply pressure to specific points on their body. This helps to stimulate the nervous system and activate ideal movement patterns to restore, develop or enhance movement and motor control.

Vojta therapy is a safe and effective technique that can help children with a wide range of developmental challenges. By working with a trained therapist, you can give your child the support they need to reach their full potential and thrive.
